Standpartners
A mix of chambercore, dream jazz, semi-traditional, and post-contemporary, standpartners weaves stringy currents of melodies that tear at the seams. Drawing from their Filipino and Persian roots, Charity Cruz (violin, samples) and Isaiah Farahbakhsh (cello, samples) navigate the contrast of self-expression and cultural assimilation through a quasi-composed landscape of sound, noise, and space. https://www.facebook.com/stndprtnrs/ |

Preetam Sengupta
Preetam Sengupta is a storytelling singer-songwriter from Sarnia. His 2017 album “Patience” earned him a Folk Music Ontario Award that included a certificate which he gave to his parents. Often compared to Paul Simon, Preetam’s live show is built around simple performance, playful stage banter, very little pyro, and a genuine desire to connect with his audience. https://www.preetam.ca/ |
Jenna Kessler
Jenna Kessler is a singer-songwriter and is set to release her first EP in Fall 2019. Jenna was classically trained as a pianist but has gone on to compose music on both piano and guitar. She weaves poetry and song in a special brew that could be described as lyrical folk. Her music celebrates nature, touches on environmental issues, and reflects on the changing human relationship with the earth. Her collection of songs is entitled "A Still Life". Jenna is also a visual artist who enjoys working in watercolour, ink and oil paint. She has a background in Organic agriculture, and is deeply inspired by the botanical subjects that she collects for observation. Her series entitled "Hands at Work" showcases women's hands at work in their craft and celebrates the important work that women do, and traditional skills and craftsmanship. Jenna also works with Garth Laidlaw in creating short animation videos. Her work with Garth often graphically animates issues surrounding food sustainability, a subject dear to her heart. https://www.jennakessler.com/music |
